Bedding Bedspread Selection Tips - What's On the Market Today?

When selecting a bedding bedspread for your home, you will never be short of options in our market today. You could walk into many discount stores and purchase a bedspread for as little as $10 or you could walk into a department store or log onto a reputable online retailer and find bedspreads that run well over $100. Depending on the materials used, the brand name it is created for, and a variety of other factors, you could get off on the low end of the market or pay the high price of luxury.

Low End Bedding Bedspread Options

For the most part, the lower end of the market for a bedding bedspread will give you basic polyester or cotton/polyester blend fabric and some very thin quilting or padding. You will find a lot of basic solid colors as well as some very simple patterns that do not include a lot of intricate detailing.

This does not mean that a lower end bedding bedspread is a waste of your money! In many cases you may only need a cheap bedspread, such as when you are decorating a guest bedroom that will likely be used only on rare occasion. Some families choose to go with lower end bedspreads for children as well, since they are likely to spend more time being washed due to bedtime accidents, spills, or simply being dragged around the house on the floor.

If you can find a basic bedding bedspread that is reasonably soft and warm and that doesn't cost a lot of money, there are many situations in which it will come in handy!

Luxury Bedding Bedspread Options

Toward the mid-to-high price range of the bedding bedspread market you start to find more natural, organic, and otherwise luxurious fabric options. You will get smooth faux silk, soft 100% pure cotton, and materials that come exclusively from other countries such as Egypt. These materials cost more as a raw good than basic polyester blended fabric, so of course the prices are going to be higher.

You also will find more hand quilting and other specialty sewing techniques featured on bedding bedspreads which are sold in the upper end of the market. These sewing techniques create more intricate details in the patterns and can make the overall bedspread more resistant to tears and busted seams which could mean it lasts longer than lower end bedspreads.

The patterns presented in the upper market are also quite elaborate compared to what you typically find in the lower end of the market. Patterns will have fine details that make them stand out and many bedding bedspreads will feature the finest of materials in the details as well, such as lace, satin, silk, and cashmere.

As a result of the superior materials, you can expect a luxury bedding bedspread to remain soft and cozy even after it has been through the wash over and over through the years.

If you don't want to spend money on a bedding bedspread that is going to fall apart right away or that looks cheaply made yet you don't have a hundred dollars to put out on luxury bedding, consider purchasing a bedding bedspread sold in the middle of the market. For about $40-50 you should be able to purchase a very nice bedspread that will fit the decor of your home without costing you a fortune!

In fact, if you take advantage of sales that are ongoing through the internet you could find higher end luxury bedding bedspreads for a very reasonable price!
